Michael Cohn
Mike is Managing Director of CFG Business Solutions, LLC. He is
nationally recognized as a leader in the field of family business;
Cohn is Past President of the Family Firm Institute (FFI) Boston, MA,
and was recently honored as an FFI Fellow for his work. FFI is an
international organization of professionals and academics who work
with family businesses.
Mike authored Passing the Torch: Succession, Retirement, & Estate
Planning in Family-Owned Businesses, 1st and 2nd Ed. (McGraw-
Hill, 1990 and 1992), and Keep or Sell Your Business … How to
Make the Decision Every Private Company Faces (Dearborn, 2000).
He is a contributing editor for Family Business Magazine, and a
frequent speaker throughout the U.S.
Mike is on the Advisory Board of the Thunderbird Global
Entrepreneurship Center at Thunderbird, The Garvin School of
International Management, Phoenix, Arizona. He is also a Board
member of the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) and is a
member of ACF’s Executive Committee. Mike holds an MA in
Humanistic Psychology (West Georgia College) and a BA in
Psychology (University of Colorado). He also holds the CLU and
ChFC designations.

consulting projects which include “keep or sell” decision-making,
ownership succession and multi-generational planning. Mike
